(after the scenario; i didn't sleep on the van on our way to batangas...)
Last Saturday July 3,2010 was an unexpected mishap. My mom's office department planned to go at my aunt's beach to have an outing. I was not in the mood to join them, not until my elder cousin asked me to join such; so she will have a companion. I agreed to join them for my "ate's" sake. My mom's officemate fetch us at home so we could have a ride from Manila to Batangas. Upon entering the van, i had a hard time opening it's door, I asked his(the owner/driver) help to open the door; he said " oo nga, mahirap buksan yan door,sa loob lang nabubuksan yan; wala din tayong aircon kaya bukas na lang naten yung bintana." So we were already inside,we were on our way to batangas; since it was like what 5:ooam; I fall asleep inside the van. Everything was at ease. Then suddenly, I woke myself up, because my mom was yelling "stop the car! stop the car!" But the driver seems to be depth and still relaxed in driving the car. A smoke outside the van started to showed up; Still. he continued driving. My mom kept on yelling at the driver, when we finally see the van filled with smoke inside, to the point that we cannot see anyone; I am trying to open the door of the van, but the door seems to lock itself; and since it's an "either:or situation (Either I will jumped on the window and be alive or I will stay on the van and die with suffocation. Like what happened to Carol Banawa's Brother) I was about to jump on the window; my mom was pushing me towards the door, But my Cousin's husband, eventually opened the door, I can't see them; What I only see was the smoke; I was covering my nose; yelling "Mom, where are you?!" I immediately walked and try to sense if the road I was stepping on has no rocks or something. As I walked through, I eventually hold someone's hand, mom is that you?! Since my mom confirmed that it was her, I immediately asked her to go far behind the van. I was about to be attacked by my asthma but I didn't mind. I yell my mom's officemates name and asked her if she hears me, she should go far behind the van. Gladly,we were on a convoy, My mom's boss immediately stop their car and go with us; When the smoke started to lessen, I can see the road filled with smoke, cars along san pedro exit stops since they no longer see the road due to the smoke that our van radiators made. It causes a traffic though. I thought the car will explode. Because if it does, we might be dead by now. When the smoke finally stops; the rescue team came, (they were a little bit late).
Since the van was not in good shape, the boys(my mom's officemates) stay with the driver so as my cousin's husband and push the van towards the repair shop. The manong said "swerte pa din kayo, hindi yung gas, yung nasira kundi sabog na kayo." We were transfered to another van; I started to feel uneasy, staring at the clouds. I am not in myself. I feel so afraid then. I don't want to sleep again inside the van. We were running smoothly, when the car overheated at calabarzon; I kept quiet, but deep inside I am afraid. After they put water on it, it runs okay. When we were going down to our house in batangas, I said "Thank God!"
My ate told me, that she did txt some of my friends to say that I am okay after what happened, I dunno that, since I'm still in shocked. Then, when I am finally back in the world, I txted them, sadly, none of those who you thought would asked "why? what happened?" didn't ask anything. My phone was silent, nobody's txting. I felt that "nobody cares for me."
Sunday morning I received a txt from people. Surprising as it may seem; those people who was not an inch close to me, txted me, and seems to be bothered regarding what happened. =( Powerhouse txted me; asking if "how are you? they didn't know what happened. But they txted me.yipee! "I'm happy that powerhouse are always there for me; that means a lot.
I now know what "live life to the fullest" means. This is my 2nd life. I should make the most out of it, because none of us knows what will happen the next day.

Wow! Talk about inattentiveness!
That driver might have been dreaming he was in a foggy reverie and after the fog comes the castle of a beautiful princess!!!
But, it's a good thing you're safe. Sorry, I didn't know. T_T
Now that you acknowledge your second life, you might as well know first if the driver is attentive enough to detect smoke before getting in a vehicle.
